Based in Lido di Noto, each day you will set off on a different loop itinerary, exploring coastal panoramas, ancient tuna fisheries, natural canyons, and Baroque towns, before returning to the comfort of your accommodation.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Lido di Noto- Avola antica - Riserva Naturale di Cavagrande - Spiaggia del Gelsomineto

A scenic tour between the sea and the inland, where coastal views and wild landscapes alternate in a continuous succession of breathtaking sights.

Starting from Lido di Noto, you will ride north towards Avola Antica, an ancient village perched on the Monti Iblei, offering stunning views of south eastern Sicily’s coastline. The climb provides wide, sunlit panoramas amid typical Mediterranean vegetation of olive trees, carob trees, and fragrant scrub.

The route then leads to the Cavagrande del Cassibile Nature Reserve, one of the most spectacular spots in the Sicilian hinterland. Here, nature reigns supreme: deep canyons, rocky cliffs, and unspoiled scenery create a truly captivating atmosphere.

The return heads back to the coast, passing by the beautiful Spiaggia del Gelsomineto, with its light sand and crystal-clear waters—perfect for a refreshing stop before returning to Lido di Noto.

Day 2 - Lido di Noto - Marzamemi - Portopalo

A captivating coastal tour through fishing villages, historic tuna fisheries, and long golden beaches. Heading south, the route passes along the Vendicari Nature Reserve, one of the most scenic stretches of the Sicilian coast, featuring wetlands, dunes, and crystal-clear waters.

Starting from Lido di Noto, you reach Marzamemi, a typical and ancient fishing village where time seems to have stood still. Located on the south eastern coast of Sicily, it is famous for its authentic charm and relaxed atmosphere. Narrow cobblestone streets, white houses overlooking the square, and the small harbor tell a story rooted in Arab and Norman times.

The old tuna fisheries and storage buildings, now transformed into restaurants and cafés, retain the unique character of the place, where maritime tradition and Mediterranean beauty come together.

The route continues to Portopalo di Capo Passero, the southernmost town in Sicily, where the Ionian Sea meets the Mediterranean. An ancient fishing village, Portopalo preserves an authentic and tranquil atmosphere, with small colorful boats, nets drying in the sun, and wide golden beaches. Off the coast, the Isola di Capo Passero is dominated by a 17th-century Spanish fortress, adding to the landscape’s charm.

Here, the open sea and endless horizons offer a remarkable sense of freedom, perfect for a refreshing stop before the return journey.

The tour concludes with the ride back to Lido di Noto along the coast, cycling amid Mediterranean scents and constantly open sea views.

Day 3 - Lido di Noto - Rosolini - Ispica

An itinerary that leaves the coast to immerse you in the authentic countryside of south eastern Sicily, with dry stone walls, carob trees, and gently cultivated hills.

From Lido di Noto, you will ride inland towards Rosolini, passing typical rural landscapes and quiet scenic roads. Rosolini, located in the province of Siracusa, has ancient origins dating back to the Greek era and has been influenced over the centuries by Roman, Byzantine, Arab, and Norman civilizations. The surrounding area is characterized by fertile fields of wheat, olive groves, and vineyards. The historic center of Rosolini still preserves many traces of its past, with narrow streets, historic churches, and period palaces. Key attractions include the Chiesa Madre di San Giuseppe and the Chiesa del Carmine, both featuring rich Baroque interiors.

After leaving Rosolini, the route continues to Ispica, a town in the province of Ragusa with a history dating back to prehistoric times, evidenced by numerous archaeological finds in the surrounding area. Known as “Spaccaforno” during the Byzantine period, Ispica later became an important center during the Norman era. The town is famous for its architectural heritage, including numerous churches, historic palaces, and ancient noble residences. Main highlights include the Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Chiesa di San Bartolomeo, and Palazzo Bruno di Belmonte.

Day 4 - Lido di Noto - Isola di Ortigia

A captivating tour combining sea and history along Sicily’s south-eastern coast, discovering one of the Mediterranean’s most charming cities.

This loop itinerary starts and ends at Lido di Noto. Riding along scenic coastal stretches, you reach Siracusa, an ancient Greek colony with a glorious past, continuing to the stunning Isola di Ortigia, the city’s historic and cultural heart.

Here, you can admire the Temple of Apollo, the oldest Greek temple in Sicily dating back to the 6th century BC, stroll through the picturesque Piazza Duomo, and visit the magnificent Cathedral of Siracusa, an extraordinary example of overlapping eras and cultures, built on the foundations of an ancient Doric temple.

Among Baroque streets, sea views, and sunlit squares, Ortigia offers a unique experience where art, history, and Mediterranean atmosphere blend in a setting of rare beauty.

The return to Lido di Noto completes the coastal loop, with the final kilometers accompanied by open panoramas and the intense light of south-eastern Sicily.
